The 2012 Chandler Award for Student Religion Writer of the Year is now accepting entries.


Enter by May 1, 2012 for a chance to win $600 cash plus a trip to Washington, DC for the 2012 RNA Conference and Awards Banquet in October.

The Chandler Award honors excellence in student writing with an emphasis on reporting skill and a grasp of religion issues that is fair, balanced and in accordance with journalistic standards. Russ Chandler, former L.A. Times religion reporter, and his wife, ML, have sponsored the award since 2002 "to promote clarity and nuance in a field that is not always reported with expertise.”
