Minn.—Journalists are invited to attend a two-day workshop Sept. 9–10 at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center: "Spirituality  Health: a Workshop for Journalists on Understanding the Relationship Among Faith, Culture and Health." The workshop is presented by RELIGION | NEWSWRITERS, in conjunction with the Association of Health Care Journalists and with support from the Fetzer Institute.

About the program
What role do the brain, the spirit and psychology play in health and healing? Evidence that faith affects healing and moral thinking has become mainstream with courses on spirituality and faith existing at about two-thirds of the nation's 125 medical schools, up from just three programs 25 years ago. While the media have reported on journal articles and research findings, rarely have such reports included explanations of religion that go beyond the clinical.

Take a closer look with these panels:
  •   Religion's role in culturally competent hospital and medical training
  •   New boundaries in bioethics
  •   Integrated health, spirituality and health care policy
  •   Palliative care and the spirit: broadening the doctor's role
Registration
The cost to attend is $50. Registration and more information is online: http://www.rna.org/?page=preconference
