Religion, politics and the intersection of faith and public life will be under the microscope Sept. 22–24 at the 2016 Religion News Association Annual Conference in Silver Spring, Md.

The heated presidential election has launched faith and ethics issues back into the national spotlight in newsrooms and in living rooms across the country. The 67th RNA Annual Conference aims to tackle topics that have recently gripped Americans:

• Race, religion and #BlackLivesMatter in the post-Obama era
• Islamophobia in focus: Muslims and the media (pre-conference panel)
• How immigrants are changing the church in America
• Countering violent extremism
• How religious liberty rights became deafening calls for amnesty

Attendees who reserve rooms in the DoubleTree conference block can save up to $300 on registration. A full conference pass for members who stay at the DoubleTree is $325 (hotel not included). Attendees who wish to attend the optional pre-conference program on Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Museum of the Bible and the Newseum should purchase a separate ticket ($75).
