Science of Identity Foundation has announced the final episode of Yoga, Spirituality, Enlightenment & God Video Series

This video series is taught by Acharya Das and is being offered as a live-streamed webcast that presents an authentic Vedic perspective on the topics of yoga, spirituality, enlightenment, and God.

Each of the previous three episodes focused on yoga, spirituality, and enlightenment, while the final episode explores the question of God or Absolute Truth. Acharya Das begins by explaining that the ultimate truth is presented in the Vedas as having three features. Not to be confused with the Trinity that is often referred to in Christianity, this trinity is built upon three different types of realization of God known as Brahman, Paramatma, and Bhagavan.

With these three experiences comes varying levels of self-realization and awareness of God. Acharya Das discusses how, common to each of these realizations, is the understanding that a person is not their body, but is spiritual in essence. This understanding eliminates the fear and anxiety rooted in the misconception that our existence is only temporary and ends with the death of the body.

Throughout the course, Acharya Das weaves in quotes from Vedic texts and personal experiences. One particularly insightful example is his own struggle as a child to understand God. He tells the audience that he didn’t understand how God could punish people and inflict eternal suffering, “I can’t believe that God would have a lower standard of justice and fairness and love than I would, and I wouldn’t do that to someone.”

As he began his study of yogic teachings, he initially concluded that God was not personal and embraced the idea that God is a vast spiritual energy of love and goodness. However his association with his spiritual teachers and further study of the Vedas revealed the more complete understanding of God as having both personal and impersonal aspects and that the personal aspect was a more complete understanding.

The course concludes with an explanation of how a transcendentalist can realize the highest truth. As union is cultivated between the individual being and the Supreme, there is a heartfelt spiritual awakening. When one is able to realize the personal feature of God as Bhagavan, one will be awarded with the most complete and profound realization and experience.

Acharya Das began the practice of astanga yoga at age 14 and later studied under two renowned gurus (spiritual teachers), Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda and His Divine Grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He is a respected teacher of Vedic and yogic philosophy, meditation, and kirtan and has taught yoga wisdom to appreciative audiences around the world for over 40 years.
