Former abortion clinic workers tell the dirty secrets you’re not supposed to know

SAN FRANCISCO – The Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion 43 years ago created a new industry in America. A quiet giant rose among the hustle and bustle of daily life, and abortion became a business, a very profitable business. Women’s clinics became scattered among the country, and the women who signed up to work at them often had no idea what they were getting into. Some of their shocking and harrowing stories are chronicled in former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson’s new book, THE WALLS ARE TALKING: Former Abortion Clinic Workers Tell Their Stories.

Johnson was a staunch supporter of abortion rights when she worked for Planned Parenthood, but it wasn’t until she was asked to assist in an ultrasound-guided abortion that her eyes were finally opened. She watched in horror as a 13-week-old baby fought, and ultimately lost, its battle for life at the hands of the abortionist. Johnson has since become a pro-life advocate and leads a non-profit aimed at assisting former abortion clinic workers transition out of the abortion industry.

She is not alone in her conversion story. Women from all walks of life are coming out of the shadows to tell their stories. THE WALLS ARE TALKING is a collection of difficult-to-read but necessary testimonies of women who are former abortion clinic workers.  During their time in the abortion industry, these women heard and saw unspeakable things that they can never forget.  Young women were mistreated, profits and the almighty dollar often drove care, and, of course, tiny human beings were slaughtered, all under the auspice of “choice.” These courageous women recognize their grave error, and are bravely recounting it to shed light on the darkness of abortion, and so that our nation will start to understand that abortion has many victims.

“In this riveting, compelling book, Abby Johnson tenderly holds out a loving hand of compassion to those millions of Americans who’ve participated in an abortion and takes a giant step toward healing our abortion-wounded nation,” says Sue Ellen Browder, author of Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement.
