Award Application done!
3 work samples + 3 short essay questions + 1 letter of recommendation

The AAAS/DoSER Science for Religion Reporters award offers a unique opportunity for writers and broadcasters who reach religious audiences to gain access to achievements at the forefront of science. Up to 4 journalists will be selected to receive a $4000 award and admission to the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Feb. 16-20, 2017, in Boston.

"What I found most beneficial about attending the 2016 AAAS Annual Meeting was the opportunity to talk to scientists; groundbreaking sessions; seeing new connections in my work (and re-energizing the work of colleagues at my publication!); and, leaving with 3-4 viable story ideas and a source or 2 for each."
- 2015 Award Winner

AAAS is the largest general science membership organization in the world. Its annual meeting features world-renowned speakers and interesting symposia covering the interface of many branches of science with society. Award recipients will be exposed to scientific breakthroughs and will have the opportunity to network with leading scientists and journalists who specialize in science.

The application deadline is November 1, 2016.
