RNA members enjoy access to exclusive trainings and networking events in addition to discounts on RNA conferences and journalism contests. Memberships are given to individuals, not corporations, and are non-transferable.

Full membership is open to:

  • Journalists, news directors, producers, editors and others in the media whose work includes news about religion

  • Self-employed journalists or authors whose work includes news about religion

  • Scholars interested in religion and the media

  • Book authors interested in writing about religion

$75 annually

Associate membership is open to:

  • Individuals who lobby about religion or religious issues

  • Public relations professionals, including those who work for the press arms or official news services of religious institutions

  • People for whom journalism is a secondary occupation

  • Officials at journalism institutions

  • Journalists who work on behalf of a university and part-time faculty at universities

  • The general public

$125 annually

Student membership is open to:

  • Students interested in religion and the media (student membership is a type of full membership)

$25 annually

Retiree membership is open to:

  • Retired journalists, scholars and authors whose work included news about religion (retiree membership is a type of associate membership)

$30 annually
